Eric Cook

Head of School

Eric Cook is from Lexington, Kentucky, but worked in schools in Ohio and Virginia before joining Covenant Classical School in 2009. Eric earned a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Social Studies Education from Transylvania University, and a master’s degree in Instructional Leadership from Northern Kentucky University. He has taught history, political science, psychology and philosophy in public schools, and served as an assistant principal for several years. In 2006, Eric felt called to join the classical Christian school movement and became the Middle and Upper School Head at Faith Christian School in Roanoke, Virginia. In addition to his leadership roles, Eric taught apologetics, theology, philosophy of religion, and served as thesis director.

Eric serves as the Chairman of the Board for the Society for Classical Learning. The Society is a national organization that exists to “foster human flourishing by making classical Christian education thrive.” Eric is excited about the work God is doing among classical Christian schools across the country and is honored to serve the movement. He speaks and writes about classical Christian education in a variety of contexts, but is most honored to lead a growing and thriving K-12 school in Fort Worth.

Eric is a voracious reader and a true lifelong learner, with special interest in the areas of philosophy, theology, education and history. He is a passionate educator who enjoys golf and a good cup of coffee. Eric and his wife, Liz, have six children: Haydon, Olivia, Grant, Cole, William and Lincoln.

Brent Stevens

Upper School Head, Humanities Department Chair

Brent Stevens is from Portland, Oregon, and began his career in education at Covenant Classical School in 2011. Brent earned a bachelor’s degree in Humanities from The College at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently working on a master’s degree in Classical Education at The University of Dallas. During his time at Covenant, Brent has had the opportunity to teach Latin, history, and literature, as well as chair the Humanities department.

Brent enjoys attending academic conferences as both a participant and a seminar leader. He has had the opportunity to present at the Society for Classical Learning annual conferences as well as the Pew Society’s annual Paideia conference hosted by Dallas Baptist University. Brent is excited to be a part of the Christian classical education movement and is passionate about cultivating its growth and impact on society.

Brent and his wife, Stephanie, and their sons, Isaac and Liam, enjoy spending time together outdoors, working on various home improvement projects, and exploring Fort Worth.



Andrew Elizalde

Interim Grammar School Head, Dean of Academics

Andrew Elizalde earned a bachelor’s from Depauw University where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude, with a math major, physics minor, and religious studies minor. He received the H.E.H. Greenleaf award as the most outstanding 2001 graduate of the school’s mathematics program. He later obtained a teaching credential from California State University Long Beach with a professional-clear qualification for his coursework regarding exceptional children and technology integration.

His teaching experience includes work in both public and private schools in subjects ranging from 5th grade mathematics to advanced calculus and physics. His past work in classical education has most notably included reforming mathematics programs and building professional learning communities through meaningful professional development.

Andrew is glad to now be serving Covenant Classical School as the Dean of Academics and Interim Grammar School Head. Additionally, Andrew also offers consulting services to classical Christian schools and has been a keynote speaker at both the ICS Math and Science Lyceum and SCL annual conferences. Andrew and his wife Brooke have three daughters who attend Covenant.

Amanda Stephens

Assistant Grammar School Head

Amanda Stephens is from Fort Worth, TX and began her career in education at Covenant in 2013. She taught kindergarten and second grade, serving as a lead teacher, before moving into administration. Amanda received her bachelor’s degree in History with Presidential Honors from John Brown University and her Master of Education in Teaching and Learning Practices from LeTourneau University. While in college, Amanda studied abroad in Northern Ireland and Italy, participated in the honors program, and sang in a university choral program.

As Assistant Grammar School Head, Amanda hopes to be a joyful presence to families and students, to provide clear communication and expectations, and to continue pursuing and enriching the Christ-centered culture at Covenant. She is also leading teachers in professional development and instructional reforms, partnering with parents to build community, and discipling students through classroom involvement and individual meetings.

Amanda and her husband, Ryan, enjoy playing with their dogs, traveling, trying new restaurants, and drinking a nice cup of coffee. They also serve together in ministries through their church, and enjoy reading and learning about church history and theology.



Amy Burgess

Director of Admission and Marketing

Amy Burgess attended Biola University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication with an emphasis in Journalism, and a minor in Biblical Studies. After college she was the Associate Editor on the VMI Alumni Review magazine, a newspaper reporter for the Wichita Falls Times-Record News, and a freelance writer for a variety of publications.

Amy and her husband, Josh, have two children at Covenant and feel blessed to call the Covenant community home.

Bill Clifton

Director of Operations

Bill is a graduate of Texas Tech University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and Interdisciplinary Studies. He worked in advertising for 16 years, then joined Brants Realtors in 2011. He joined the Covenant administrative team in 2013 as Director of Facilities, and became Director of Operations in 2015. Bill and his wife, Nicole, have four children who attend Covenant.



Hallie Williams

Student Support Director

Hallie Williams is a Texas native from the small town of Brock. She received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Tarleton State University, and her master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Hallie formally served as a Network Specialist in Special Education on multiple campuses in Fort Worth ISD for two-and-a-half years where she coached general and Special Education teachers in best instructional practices to meet the unique needs of their student population. In her last year with the district, she took on the additional role of Math Specialist on several of her middle school campuses. Prior to working with Fort Worth ISD, Hallie was a Special Education teacher at Burleson High School and Millsap Middle School. In Millsap, she also taught English Language Arts, History, Business and Technology courses.

The Lord led Hallie to join the Covenant family as Director of Student Support in the summer of 2016. Hallie’s husband is the Lead Pastor at Solid Rock Church in Fort Worth where they have faithfully served for the last 11 years. They have two boys, Hudson and Calvin, who attend Covenant.

Katie Stockwell

Student Support Coordinator

Katie Stockwell grew up in Richardson, TX.  She earned her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Texas Christian University.  While attending Texas Christian University, Katie was accepted into the Accelerated Program where she graduated with her Masters in Special Education.

After graduating from TCU, Katie taught second through fourth grades in Birdville ISD and CyFair ISD.  She taught in the general education setting, was an inclusion teacher, and taught in partnership with the gifted and talented program.  The Lord led Katie to Covenant Classical School in 2013 where she taught first grade for two years before serving as the Student Support Coordinator.

Katie and her husband, Christopher, have three young children, Liam, Emery and Bridger. The Stockwells attend Christ Chapel Bible Church, enjoy spending time together in the great outdoors, and feel humbled to be a part of the Covenant family.



Deborah Allen

Director of College Counseling

Deborah Allen earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Florida   where she received The Presidential Recognition Award for outstanding leadership. She obtained her profession certification in Human Resource Development from the University of Georgia as well as a master’s degree in Humanities from California State University, Dominquez Hills.

Deborah and her family have lived from coast to coast in several different cities giving her the opportunity to have a variety of work experiences.  She was an academic and career advisor at the University of Florida and then worked in both corporate and non-profit settings focusing on human resource development and strategic planning.  After discovering classical education, Deborah has intermittently homeschooled her children and taught western civilization humanities classes at a community college.

In addition to serving as the Director of College Counseling, Deborah has taught Rhetoric humanities classes and now co-facilitates the Women’s Civic Society. Deborah and her husband Stan have two daughters, and are thankful to be a part of the CCS community.

Ron Abrams

Athletic Director

Ron Abrams joined Covenant as Athletic Director in 2011. Ron is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington and returned to the university as an assistant track coach from 1990-1995. He served as the founder and head coach of the Elite Track Club for 15 years and was the Assistant Executive Director for the Arlington Boys & Girls Club during the 1980s. Ron’s career in coaching spans 35 years and encompasses a vast wealth of experience and accomplishment.

Ron has coached six TAPPS state championship teams in football and in track-and-field events. Ron and his wife, Denise, have three children and one grandchild.



Jeremy Martin

Assistant Athletic Director

Jeremy Martin earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas in History with an Education minor. He earned a USATF Level II certification, along with his Certified Athletic Administrator certificate, from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. He is working toward a master’s degree in Athletic Administration from Grace College.

Jeremy has served in the athletic department for classical Christian schools for more than 10 years, spending the last two years as the athletic director of a classical Christian school in Tennessee. He has been part of multiple TAPPS state championship teams in football, basketball and track & field events.

Jeremy and his bride, Lindsay, have three boys (Knox, Noah and Luke). Both his eldest attend Covenant, and the youngest is eagerly awaiting his turn.
