What are the school hours?

  • K-2nd, Monday-Thursday, 8:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. (K-2nd students do not attend school on Fridays.)
  • 3rd-12th grades, Monday-Thursday, 8:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.; Friday, 8:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

How many students are enrolled at Covenant?

In the 2016-17 school year, we have 380 students enrolled K-12.

How many students are in each of your classes?

At Covenant we keep our kindergarten classes very small, usually around 12 students per class. In 1st-12th grades, our classes usually have around 17 students.

Is Covenant Classical School accredited?

Covenant Classical School is accredited through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)/AdvancEd. Covenant is also a member of the Association of Classical Christian Schools and the Society of Classical Learning.

Is Covenant associated with a particular church or denomination?

Covenant is a non-denominational, protestant Christian school. Our families come from almost 40 different churches in Fort Worth.

Do you have to be a Christian to attend Covenant?

Covenant operates on the covenant-model of Christian school admission, meaning that at least one parent of each family is an active, professing Christian, involved in a local church. Partnership with parents is central to Covenant’s mission statement, providing students with a consistent commitment to the truth of Scripture whether they are at home or at school.

Do you have to be a member of a church to enroll at Covenant?

Scripture instructs believers to be in regular fellowship with other believers (Hebrews 10:25). We ask all applying families to submit a pastoral reference that shows they are active members/participants of a local church body.

Do you offer before- or after-school care?

At this time, Covenant does not offer before- or after-school care.

At what age can a child begin attending Covenant Classical School?

Students need to be 5 years old by September 1st of their kindergarten year.

Does Covenant offer tuition assistance?

Covenant offers financial aid up to 50% of a family’s total tuition cost. Financial assistance applications are submitted online via a link on our website (under the Admission tab), and they are processed by a third-party company. The company issues the school a report indicating how much financial aid a family qualifies for based on the “legitimate financial need” formula submitted by the school. The formula takes into account all income and expenses in a family’s budget.

Do you have chapel?

Covenant students attend chapel each morning, Monday – Thursday, in the Auditorium.

I am interested in enrolling my (4th-9th) grade child but (s)he has never studied Latin. How do you help prepare students to join their grade in Latin?

Covenant offers Latin Academy in the summer to prepare transfer students to join their grade in Latin. Latin Academy lasts from 1-3 weeks, depending on grade level, and usually begins in early August.

What foreign languages does Covenant offer?

Covenant offers Latin starting in 3rd grade. In 10th grade, students may choose to continue studying Latin, switch to Greek, or take both languages. Covenant plans to offer a modern language track in the future when our Upper School is large enough to accommodate multiple language tracks. However, a classical school diploma will always require a certain amount of study in an ancient language.

What colleges or universities have Covenant Classical School graduates chosen to attend?

Covenant is still a young school, with only about 50 graduates so far. Covenant graduates have attended Baylor University (Honors), Palm Beach Atlantic, Pepperdine University, Samford University (Honors), Tarleton State University, Tarrant County College, Texas A&M University, University of Arkansas, University of Oklahoma, University of Texas (Business Honors, Plan II), and Wheaton College.

What sports and other extra-curricular activities does Covenant offer?

Athletics: Six-man Football, Cross Country, Volleyball, Basketball, Tennis, Golf, Baseball, Track and Field

Theatre: Covenant Fine Arts produces several theatre productions each year, open to auditioning students in 3rd-12th grades. After-school theatre workshops are offered throughout the year for students in 3rd-6th grades.

Covenant also has a Rhetoric Mock Trial team.

Does Covenant offer AP courses?

Covenant does not offer Accelerated Placement courses, but many of our high school students choose to take AP exams to qualify for advanced college credit. We offer several of the exams on our campus.
