Ivy School Uniforms Uniform guidelines

Spirit Wear Thursdays: On Thursdays, students may wear T-shirts or sweatshirts purchased from the Spirit Shop and either blue jeans or a uniform skirt (girls) or uniform pants or shorts (boys). Full-length blue jeans must be in good condition, with no holes, frayed ends, or embellishments. Students may wear boots, tennis shoes, socks, and hair accessories in a wider variety of colors.

Upper School House Shirts: Upper School students may wear their House T-shirt on Thursdays, as well as on Fridays if their House was the most recent quarterly winner in the House competitions.

Alternative Leggings for Girls: While it is our preference that leggings for cold weather days be sourced from Ivy School Uniforms, we offer a second option from The Children's Place in a very close color match called tidalLeggings may be purchased via the company's online store, via this Amazon link, or in one of The Children's Place storefronts. Please note that leggings may be worn with dress uniforms, but only if a student is not performing on stage. Once off stage, students may change into their leggings.

Outerwear: Daily outerwear to be worn in the classroom must have been purchased from Ivy School Uniforms, but please note that all previously purchased daily outerwear is grandfathered in, as well. This is limited, however, to items featuring the school’s crest, not to items purchased from the Spirit Shop. (Those items may be worn on Thursdays only.) Non-uniform rain jackets and heavy winter coats may be worn outside of class, during arrival and dismissal, and during PE and recess.

Hair Policy: Hair should be consistent with other aspects of school decorum that promote seriousness of purpose and avoidance of distraction. Students must keep their hair a natural color, clean, well groomed for school, and out of the face and eyes.

Additional Information: Shirts must be tucked in and buttoned up (the top button may remain unbuttoned). Skirts, jumpers, and shorts should be no more than two inches above the knee. There should be no tears or holes in any clothing items, and there should be no visible labels or personal monogramming. Only girls may wear traditional hair accessories in school colors and small earrings. No other piercings or tattoos are allowed. Boys and girls may wear one simple bracelet and/or necklace, as well as a watch (no smart watches). Upper School girls may wear natural-looking makeup.
